Description

Camphill Village Copake, NY, is a wonderful place where people of all abilities live together in a beautiful community and practice many traditional crafts. We will take you on a tour of their weavery studio with the fascinating experience of up to 16 wooden looms operated by skilled weavers as they work together in harmony.

Camphill weavers are involved in choosing fibers, color themes, and setting up looms. With great love and care, they create striking and unique fabrics and turn them into useful household items such as napkins, aprons, and table runners. Processed wool from the Camphill Village farm is hand-dyed, hand-spun, and woven into a very special scarf that brings warmth to your body and soul. They rescue plastic bags and plastic packaging materials and process them into yarn, which is woven into their famous handwoven plastic tote bag.

You won’t want to miss a moment of this tour into a unique way of life that is as beautiful as it is inclusive.
