Felting may look tricky, but I promise it’s not! Learn to needle felt an adorable mini cactus in this easy-to-follow beginner class. Once you get the hang of using the barbed needle to bunch up the wool fibers, you’ll transform fluffy sheep’s wool into a pretty potted desert plant. You’ll also learn about different types of wool and needle felting needles plus techniques you can apply to a lot of other projects. Let’s get poking!
Materials Needed:
• 1/4 ounce each of green and brown/sand colored wool roving
• A 5”x5” piece of crafting felt in peach/pink for the cactus flowers
• 3 yards of embroidery thread in oat/beige
• Sewing needle
• 38 gauge needle (2 of each since you may break one)
• Needle felting pad, large dry sponge or a piece of foam
• Wood or ceramic pot, bowl or dish to place your cactus in
• Long toothpick or thin dowel
• Sharp scissors
• Craft glue
• Pattern which will be provided
